As Alayna Adams stepped up to throw the first pitch at Thursday night's Tampa Bay Rays game she was hoping to honor her father, who was deployed in Afghanistan.

She never dreamed, however, that he would be the one catching that pitch. But, as KMOV reports, her dad had a wonderful surprise for her.

After catching nine year-old Alayna's pitch, her father took off his catcher's mask and little Alayna ran straight into his arms. Pure joy could be seen on both their faces as they hugged each other.

I think it's safe to say there wasn't a dry eye in the stadium that night.
