“It got a bit heated with Geraldo last night,” former Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino tweeted following his dramatic clash with a fellow Fox News commentator Thursday night on “Hannity.”

In a shouting match with Geraldo Rivera debating whether or not the U.S. should have killed Iranian general and terrorist Qassem Soleimani, Bongino argued that eliminating one of the world’s leading terrorists was “an unabashedly good thing – not just for the United States for the world.”

Rivera responded by asking, “Is this the new normal: that we assassinate the people that we don’t like?”

The characterization of Soleimani as someone Americans merely “don’t like” set off Bongino, who responded with incredulous outrage:

“The people we ‘don’t like’?

“Geraldo, he sent six hundred Americans home in body bags! It’s not like he showed up late for a birthday party!

“I mean, get you head out of your butt. Are you kidding me? ‘People we don’t like’? You act like this guy sent you a fifty instead of a hundred in a birthday card!”

Rivera replied by rebuking Bongino for resorting to name-calling and “gutter-surfing”:

“You know, you insult. I never insult you. I never insult you personally, buddy. But, you feel that you can go gutter-surfing. I’m telling you right now that I disagree with this action. It doesn’t mean that I am unpatriotic.”

“We picked a fight that we didn’t have to pick,” Rivera concluded.

CNSNews Reader,

The media are hard at work weaving a web of confusion, misinformation, and conspiracy surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

CNSNews covers the stories that the liberal media are afraid to touch. It drives the national debate through real, honest journalism—not by misrepresenting or ignoring the facts.

CNSNews has emerged as the conservative media’s lynchpin for original reporting, investigative reporting, and breaking news. We are part of the only organization purely dedicated to this critical mission and we need your help to fuel this fight.

Donate today to help CNSNews continue to report on topics that the liberal media refuse to touch. $25 a month goes a long way in the fight for a free and fair media.
