Because of Communist China's genocidal treatment of the Uyghurs -- an estimated 1.5 million in concentration camps -- the leader of Canada's Conservative Party, Erin O'Toole, has called for Canada to not participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics in China and to work with allies in moving the games out of that despotic regime.

“Genocide is taking place in China right now," said O'Toole on Tuesday, as reported by LifeSiteNews. "Approximately one million Uyghurs have been forcibly relocated in detention centres for ‘reeducation’ in Xinjiang."

“People who have managed to escape have reported horrific, coordinated violence using physical, mental and sexual torture," he said. "Women have spoken of mass rape and sexual abuse. Women have been subjected to forced sterilization. China is an incredibly secret state, so we can only imagine what else the Uyghur has been subjected to behind the curtain of communism.”

The Trump administration designated Communist China’s atrocities against the Muslim Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples as genocide on Jan. 19, 2021. The new secretary of state, Anthony Blinken, said on Jan. 27, "My judgment remains that genocide was committed against – against the Uighurs and that – that hasn't changed."

Conservative Party leader O'Toole further said, “The time has come for Canada to call on the International Olympic Committee to relocate the 2022 Olympics out of China. Canada must take a stand and show leadership, but we do not need to do this alone.”

“I think Canadians would agree that it would violate fundamental ethical principles to participate in an Olympic Games hosted by a country that is committing a genocide against part of its population,” he added. Canada “should not be sending athletes to China in the middle of a genocide."

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, head of Canada's Liberal Party, has not denounced Communist China's treatment of the Uyghurs, or its long-entrenched human rights abuses against Chinese citizens in general.

However, 22 Liberal M.P.'s have signed a letter calling for the Winter Olympic Games to be moved out of China.

Since 1949-50, when the Communists seized control under Mao Zedong, China has killed more than 65 million of its own citizens, according to The Black Book of Communism (Harvard University Press).
