There have been plenty of horror stories involving government employees over the years. But this one from the Environmental Protection Agency will turn your stomach.

Members of the Denver regional office of the EPA have been finding it difficult to relieve themselves without making quite a mess. An email from Deputy Regional Administrator Howard Cantor cited numerous occasions of clogged toilets, overflowing bathrooms, and even “an individual placing feces in the hallway.”

If that’s not bad enough, the agency conferred with a workplace violence expert who determined this disgusting behavior to be “very dangerous” and a health risk. There’s no word on how much the EPA paid this “expert” to come to this self-evident conclusion.

The email was obtained by the website Government Executive. The EPA would not comment on the story.
