NRA Protestors: 'Second Amendment, That's Baloney!'

On Monday, MRCTV's Dan Joseph decided to pay members of the Reston-Herndon Alliance To End Gun Violence a visit at their monthly protest outside the NRA Headquarters in Fairfax.  The group comes out to rail against the NRA, a pro-Second Amendment organization with five million loyal members, on the 14th of every month to commemorate the horrific Newtown shooting.

Although, like most gun control advocates, they reiterated the same talking points that aim to curb our Second Amendment rights and leave law-abiding citizens unarmed and defenseless.

One woman said that they were at the NRA to tell them that "30,000 people die of gun violence in this country every year, and it's their fault."

Another woman noted that Stand Your Ground laws needed to be changed because they're being "disproportionately enforced by racist people against people of color."  Additionally, when asked by MRCTV if you should be able to use a firearm to defend yourself against someone who is putting your life in danger, the same woman said, "No...only a law enforcement officer should be allowed to use weapons."

Joseph pressed her, asking: "So, you're in the wrong place, you're screwed?"

Her response: "Yes."

But, the quote of the day comes from a rather angry protestor:

"Anybody that wants to wrap themselves in the [American] flag and say [sic] oh, Second Amendment...that's baloney!"

You want to know what else is baloney: a pro-gun control legislator who tried to allegedly dabble in arms trafficking.

On a brighter note, gun ownership has been surging, yet firearm-related homicides have dropped 39% from 1993-2011, according to the FBI.  Also, self-reported gun ownership reached its highest levels since 1993 based on a Gallup poll in 2011.
