WH Scrambles to Blame 'Polar Vortex' on Global Warming

By Matt Vespa | January 8, 2014 | 6:50pm EST

Breaking news coming from the White House: more cold weather is coming - because of global warming.

To explain how we'll get more cold weather because of warming, the White House is pitching this two-minute video by Pres. Obama's science adviser, Dr. John Holdren called, "What's a Polar Vortex?" - and hosting a Google+ "Hangout."

"If you've been hearing that extreme cold spells, like the one that we're having in the United States now, disprove global warming, don't believe," Holdren begins his presentation.

"But, a growing body of evidence suggests that the kind of extreme cold being experienced by much of the United States as we speak is a pattern that we can expect to see with increasing frequency as global warming continues," Holdren argues.

This coming from the man who declared that a born baby does not become human until years after birth - provided the child gets proper "socializing" and nutrition. Holdren co-authored the book with Stanford professors Paul R. Ehrlich and Anne H. Ehrlich.

Dr. Holdren points to the epicenter of the creation of polar vortices: global warming has caused the ice caps to shrink. There's only one problem.  They're not shrinking. In fact; the Arctic Ice Cap grew by 920,000 square miles last year.

Additionally, we saw the creation of 19,000 Manhattans worth of sea ice, the quietest hurricane season in thirty years, and the calmest tornado season in six decades.  Lastly, global temperatures have stagnated for the past seventeen years now.

Still, on Friday, January 10 at 2:00PM, the White House's "We the Geeks" initiative will host a Webinar on the White House's Google+ page to keep to re-heat global warming hysteria in the face of this week's frigid weather.
