(CNSNews.com) - President Barack Obama sent out a tweet today citing Pope Francis in reminding people they have a moral obligation to the next generation and to the most vulnerable among us.

Obama sent the tweet as part of a Twitter conversation he was having this afternoon on the subject of climate change.

A participant in the Twitter conversation asked the president: "[W]hat are your thoughts on @Pontifex words on climate change as moral/religious issue."

Obama tweeted his response: [A]s @Pontifex and other religious leaders have stated we have a moral obligation to the most vulnerable and the next generation."
